Jack von Jardelund is a very handsome, 5-year-old German Shepherd. Jack is a wonderful example of the forgiving nature of dogs. His former owners moved away and left him abandoned in their backyard for two weeks. Fortunately, a Good Samaritan heard his whimpers and contacted us.  Jack holds no grudges, and his sweet personality has come out. He is such an endearing boy, so appreciative of any and all attention and pets, and he's been great with everyone he's met at the rescue. He enjoys his walks and does well meeting friendly dogs but, smart boy that he is, he avoids the pushy ones; Jack only has room for good vibes in his life now. In his playgroups he minds his own business and mostly hangs out with people. (He's a no for small dogs or cats.) With his  calm energy level, Jack takes treats like a very polite gentleman, is housebroken and has learned basic commands in his training. He has also mastered the puppy-dog eyes, looking up at his humans to check in. One of our volunteers has been mentoring this special boy, who is a well-behaved passenger in the car during drives to monthly hikes.  He's also one of our favorite office dogs who seems to be memorizing key strokes as our employees work on their computers.
